Widely respected by peers and clients alike, he combines courtroom experience with accredited mediation and arbitration credentials to advise employers, senior executives, public institutions and trade unions on high-stakes labour matters. His practice emphasises practical outcomes that protect commercial interests while managing reputational and operational risk for organisations operating in South Africa’s complex employment environment. Patrick Deale holds a BA LLB from the University of Natal (UKZN) and was admitted as an attorney of the High Court in 1980. Early in his career he held senior in‑house roles including Group Secretary and Labour Relations Advisor for a listed industrial group and practised at established firms before founding specialist labour consultancies.
