Trinath Tadakamalla

Trinath is a Partner at Solaris Legal, and is enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi. His practice focusses on disputes, specifically in the areas of energy, engineering, infrastructure projects, insurance and reinsurance, recoveries and shareholder disputes.

In the energy and infrastructure space, he advises city gas distribution entities on regulatory and contentious matters, and acts for them in disputes. He represents infrastructure companies in respect of contractual issues, delays in project completion and recoveries. He also advises contractors in claims against employers, including in respect of variations, prolongation and defect liability. He has also acted for Indian port operators in their disputes against Port Trusts arising out of concession agreements entered into with the Port.

He has also extensively acted for governments in advising them on disputes arising out of large scale infrastructure projects (worth in excess of US$20 Billion) including in respect of environmental constraints and challenges. His role involves advising on strategy, coordination between the government and contractors, and handling litigation in respect of the large projects.

In the insurance and reinsurance space, he advises on insurance policy coverage, claims handling, strategy, and represents clients in litigation in the areas of property and energy insurance claims and loss of profits claims, and subrogated recoveries.

He also acts for clients/investors in shareholder disputes, and in the enforcement of arbitration awards and judgments in India. He has also written for a book titled “Enforcement of International Arbitration Awards in India” published by Lexis Nexis in 2017.
