• Representation of the Safran Group in the establishment of the EUMET engine joint venture with MTU Aero Engines for the development and manufacture of the engine for Europe’s next-generation fighter, including the coordination of merger control and other competition law issues.
• Representation of the Safran Group in the establishment of an engine joint venture with Boeing, advising on competition law aspects and regulatory clearances.
• Enforcement of cartel damages claims against truck manufacturers in relation to the truck cartel.
• Representation of the ARYZTA Group in the enforcement of cartel damages claims against flour manufacturers in connection with the milling cartel.
• Advising ZF TRW in the auto parts cartel proceedings.

This includes strategic assessment of filing requirements, substantive competition analysis, and managing review processes for complex joint ventures and M&A transactions.
• Cartel and fine proceedings: Representation of companies in cartel investigations and administrative fine proceedings, including matters involving alleged cartels, bid-rigging, and information exchanges. He provides strategic counsel during dawn raids, internal investigations, and interactions with competition authorities.
• Abuse of dominance: Advising dominant and potentially dominant undertakings on pricing, access, and distribution practices, as well as representing clients in abuse-of-dominance investigations and related litigation.
• Leniency and settlement strategies: Designing and implementing leniency strategies and applications before competition authorities, and advising on settlement options in cartel and antitrust investigations.
• Antitrust compliance: Developing and reviewing antitrust compliance programs, conducting risk analyses, and performing internal audits. He regularly delivers training on competition law compliance for management and employees.
• Competition litigation and damages actions: Representation of claimants and defendants in antitrust litigation, including follow-on damages claims arising from cartels and abuse-of-dominance findings.
• Contractual restraints of competition: Advising on non-compete clauses, distribution agreements, cooperation agreements, licensing arrangements, and other contractual frameworks to ensure compliance with German and EU competition rules.

Dr. Jungermann is actively engaged in the competition law community. He is a member of the Association for Antitrust Law Studies, the Competition Litigation Forum in Hamburg, the Frankfurt Antitrust Law Forum, the American Bar Association (Section of Antitrust Law), the German-American Lawyers Association, the Association for the Protection of Industrial Property and Copyright (GRUR), the German Society for Law and Informatics (DGRI), and the Frankfurt Bar Association. He serves on the board of the Competition Litigation Forum in Hamburg and was Chairman of the Board of the Frankfurt Antitrust Law Forum until 2016. In addition, he regularly lectures and publishes on antitrust law and compliance and contributes as a commentator to the “Frankfurt Commentary on Antitrust Law” on German and European competition law.Education
