Unlocking Residency in Panama: "Friendly Nations vs Qualified Investor Visa"

posted 1 week ago

Are you considering relocating to Panama? In this video, we’ll explore two popular residency options: the Friendly Nations Visa and the Qualified Investor Visa.
1. *Application Criteria***Friendly Nations Visa**: Based primarily on the applicant’s nationality from a list of approved “friendly” countries, along with demonstrating economic solvency.
**Qualified Investor Visa**: Requires applicants to make a significant investment in Panama, regardless of nationality.
2. *Minimum Investment Required***Friendly Nations Visa**: Does not require a specific investment in Panama. Economic solvency can be demonstrated through various means, also by buying a property in the country for 200,000 $.
**Qualified Investor Visa**: Requires a substantial investment in Panama, which may include real estate or other government-approved options. The minimum investment amount is $300,000 $ or more, depending on the investment chosen.
3. *Immigration Status***Friendly Nations Visa**: Grants temporary 2 years residency status in Panama. After 2 years, holders can apply for permanent residency.
**Qualified Investor Visa**: Provides lifetime residency upon 30 days of application.
4. *Time Frames and Process***Friendly Nations Visa**: The application process involves gathering required documents, submitting them to the National Immigration Service of Panama, and attending an interview. Processing times can vary but typically take a few months.
**Qualified Investor Visa**: Requires providing evidence of the investment made in Panama, along with other required documents. The processing time can also vary but may be expedited for investors.
5. **Application with Family Members**: **Friendly Nations Visa**: Allows applicants to include their spouse and dependents. They receive the same residency status as the main applicant.
**Qualified Investor Visa**: Similarly permits including family members (spouse and dependents) in the application. They also receive the same residency status as the main investor.

Whether you’re seeking a sunny retirement or a new business venture, Panama offers a pathway to residency that suits your needs.
