Stephanie Sarlet is an internationally recognized Belgian and European patent attorney and UPC representative with more than two decades experience in private practice. Her track record includes representing and advising clients in high profile litigation on the national level as well as on the international level, including involvement in litigation at the new Unified Patent Court. Before co‑founding Pitch in 2021, she held leading roles at major European IP firms. As a court‑registered expert for seizure procedures (saisie‑contrefaçon), Stephanie assists courts and counsel with evidence‑taking procedures in IP disputes, where she combines her keen technological insight and legal strategy with forensic fact‑finding.

Hello, my name is Stephanie Sarlet. I’m a Belgian and European patent attorney and also a unified patent court representative based in andor in Belgium. I run a boutique law and IP firm together with some lawyers.
It’s called pitch. and my main areas of specialty are electromechanics, electronics, telecommunications, software, computer implemented inventions and things like that. So we started pitch five about five years ago and I had the chance to do this together with my friend from from before Bart Leven who is an attorney at law and it was an opportunity for me to start off something new and then I really wanted to not become the the next IP firm, the next patent firm just doing drafting and
prosecution. I want to be able to offer something more to my clients. So that’s why I asked Bart, will you please join me? And he said, of course, yes. And now we can offer a broad range of services which goes from any IP prosecution drafting. we do tax advice around IP, we advise around commercial activities subsidies and we also focus a lot on detecting and battling infringement on the internet. so yeah happy with this decision and doing great.
Our main focus for clients is startup companies andmemes where we can be involved in the strategy of the company. where we can get involved in an early stage of the innovation of the developments and really provide strategic advice to the client and help them get along with with their developments, their innovations and protect them very well and also make sure that that they can get the most out of it. commercially we do offer services also to multinational companies and unities
for example but the the heart of our business in is in the smaller theme and startup type clients particular achievement where I’m very proud of is that I was one of the first experts appointed by the unified patent court to do a seizure of evidence in Belgium.
I do this a lot also for the Belgian courts. I get I am a registered expert for seizures. It’s in in the area it’s known as sees contraas. and I was one of the first ones to do it also for the unified patent court which is relatively new.
And other achievements that I that are worth mentioning is that I was in leading positions in two major IP firms before I started pitch. My main reasons for joining global experts, global law experts is to expand my network internationally and get a bit more known. I am very well known in Europe. I am also for example the treasurer of the European Patent Litigators Association.
so but outside Europe I don’t think I’m so well known and I wanted to expand my network more globally.
