act as IP expert at the courts. The role of the IP expert is to advise the courts and to assist the judge about the intellectual property matters. And I am one of I I am one of five in in Dubai registered in this room.

So this is a unique area for for our clients where I can advise them in litigation or pre-litigation actually in litigation I have two rules also in this in this in this part pre-litigation where I can advise my clients what is the scenarios what will go on in the courts how much the damages they can can claim in the court and what’s the risk involved in their cases and how much the chances of success this is from one side from the other

side once I’m being appointed from the court this is this is here I can I act like a government officer where I can advise the judge so the unique area for me in addition to my capacity as IP attorney definitely this is could be the added value for my clients where I can advise them properly before the courts and bring to litigation stage depends depends on the in the in the in the client because I have two clients actually as I said to you I have the

client from the courts I am where they are my clients actually and I have my own clients when I’m acting as IP attorney I have my own clients namely they are doing tobacco my own clients we handled about five or six portfolios for tobacco all over the world more probably more than six or 7,000 trademarks in tobacco so we manage these kind of plants locally and international and we advising them in litigation consolation pre-reuse and for competition like normal practice.

in terms of IP expert and the litigation matters we have very wide kind of cases or you can say very wide expertise as these kind of clients is coming from the court and they are very very wide.

I manage this and as I I am and recently I am one of five before I was one of three. So third third of the cases in Dubai are presented to myself.

So, so the kind of expertise and the exposure I I faced in my life is very very very wide. So you can imagine if you have one of three onethird of the cases of the city in your table. So you have a lot of experience. I managed last 10 years I’ve been in this room since 2017.

estate company where they use their their brand and they associated the brand along with the real estate projects and we monitored this case. I I I am I am I am I was the appointed expert from the court and we we we spent a lot of efforts and time to reach to a scale where we can do compensation for where I found myself that the real estate company is violating the intellectual property rights for the claimment which is a car industry

and in order to determine the compensation this is the most important for the parties where the claimant is filing a case to claim compensation of the licensing. for me it was a unique case and we issued a report that it is the claimant of the car industry or the entitled for about 12.5 million to 25 millions and the courts adopted this at the first instance court they adopted the 25 millions while the appeal court they reduced to 12.5 and it is within my reports

estimation. This is very unique case because you know here in UAE the courts started or become last the last five years they started to have to understand the yeah the the the value of IP rights and the value of what’s the meaning of intellectual property and the compensation and for me this kind of orders is very unique and the landmark in in Dubai and in UAE for future cases and precedent cases for damages claim claims.
