Romain Rattaz is a Partner at Squair Law’s Paris office and a seasoned practitioner in real estate and construction law. With nearly two decades of legal experience, he advises a wide range of French and international clients, including institutional and private investors, developers, construction companies, property owners, asset managers, lessors, and operators, on complex real estate transactions and construction projects.

Romain is involved across all phases of the project lifecycle, from planning and structuring through to construction, delivery, and post-completion warranties. His work addresses a broad spectrum of technical, financial, insurance, and legal issues associated with real estate and development projects. He is particularly skilled in handling strategic negotiations, regulatory and notarial matters, and overseeing contract execution in high-stakes transactions.

Romain focuses exclusively on real estate and construction law, with a strong emphasis on guiding private and institutional actors through transactional operations. His practice includes:

• Structuring and negotiating real estate transactions and development agreements
• Drafting and executing contracts related to promotion, leasing, and construction
• Advising on construction insurance and liability, including decennial liability, manufacturer guarantees, and damage insurance
• Supporting clients in lease structuring (including BEFA and commercial leases), transfers, and end-of-lease disputes
• Representing clients in litigation and dispute resolution across various phases of development and leasing
