Experience

Peter Pang has over 40 years of experience as a practicing attorney in both China and North America, with more than 25 years spent practicing in the People’s Republic of China. He is the founder, Chairman, and Managing Partner of IPO Pang Shenjun Law Firm, which has offices in Shanghai, China, and Washington DC. His career includes significant roles such as in-house corporate and intellectual property counsel at Shell Oil Company, M&A attorney for Hershey Foods, Vice President and General Counsel for Dole Packaged Food Corporation, Chief General Corporate Counsel for Nissan North America, and Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Win Win Gaming, Inc. He was also Of Counsel to Dickinson Wright PLLC focusing on international business transactions. Mr. Pang has played a key role in major mergers and acquisitions, including driving over US$5 billion of M&A transactions, with a strong emphasis on Sino-American matters. He is recognized for his expertise in navigating complex regulatory environments in China and facilitating cross-border business ventures between China and North America or Europe.

Prior to founding his firm, Mr. Pang held senior in-house legal roles at Shell Oil Company, Hershey Foods, Dole Food Company, and Nissan North America.

He also focuses on protecting famous American brands against piracy and counterfeiting. His international background equips him well to advise multinational companies on competitive strategies in China and the global market, as well as assist Chinese companies in expanding abroad.

Education

Mr. Pang was educated in China (Peking University) and the United States (UC Berkeley, Santa Clara Law School, University of Houston and Duke University), along with having taken courses at University of Hong Kong and Jiaotong University in Shanghai.
