Muhammad Al-Bedeawi is the Founder and Managing Partner of Al-Bedeawi & Partners LLP, with more than 22 years of legal experience advising Egyptian and international clients on corporate, commercial and investment matters.
He began his legal practice in 2004 and established his own law office in Cairo in 2008. As the practice expanded, partners joined the firm in 2012, developing it into what is now Al-Bedeawi & Partners LLP.
Mr. Al-Bedeawi’s practice focuses primarily on corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, foreign investment, cross-border transactions, international commercial contracts and corporate restructuring. He regularly advises foreign companies and investors on establishing, acquiring, restructuring and operating businesses in Egypt, as well as on the negotiation and implementation of complex commercial arrangements.
His experience extends across a broad range of industries, with particular depth in manufacturing, tourism and hospitality, real estate development and investment, franchising, intellectual property and international trade.
In addition to his role as Managing Partner of Al-Bedeawi & Partners LLP, Mr. Al-Bedeawi also serves as Senior Egyptian Counsel and Egypt Partner with an international law firm, advising on cross-border corporate, trade and investment matters involving Egypt.
Throughout his career, Mr. Al-Bedeawi has represented companies, investors, business owners and international groups in a wide variety of corporate transactions and commercial negotiations.
A significant part of his practice involves advising international clients entering or expanding within the Egyptian market. His work includes corporate establishment, acquisitions, shareholder and partnership arrangements, corporate restructuring, regulatory matters, commercial contracting and the ongoing legal support required for foreign-owned businesses operating in Egypt.
Among his notable transactions, Mr. Al-Bedeawi represented the selling party in the approximately USD 55 million sale of a major ceramic manufacturing business in Ain Sokhna. He was responsible for drafting and negotiating the transaction documentation and played a leading role in the negotiations and implementation of the transaction through completion.
Earlier in his career, he acted as legal consultant to major tourism and real estate investment businesses in Egypt, including Misr-Italy Real Estate and Sharm Dreams Group. His responsibilities included drafting, reviewing and negotiating corporate and commercial agreements relating to substantial tourism, real estate and hospitality projects.
His hospitality experience included work relating to the management arrangements of five-star hotels operated under international brands including Hilton and Marriott, requiring the negotiation and review of sophisticated contractual arrangements between hotel owners, investors and international operators.
Over the course of his practice, Mr. Al-Bedeawi has developed extensive experience as a legal negotiator. He has represented clients in negotiations involving acquisitions, investments, corporate arrangements, commercial agreements, franchise relationships, hotel management agreements, real estate transactions and other complex business matters.
His work increasingly involves multi-jurisdictional transactions, coordinating Egyptian legal requirements with the commercial and corporate structures of international clients and their overseas advisers.
