About Marcello Gioscia
Marcello is one of Italys top banking and finance lawyers according to Who’s Who Legal. He is also an expert in M&A and privatization.
In his decades of practice, Marcello has assisted leading clients in some of the most important transactions in the relevant market sectors: he represented Hermes Asset Management Europe in a €5 billion lawsuit brought by Parmalat and Banco Bilbao Vizcaya as parent company in connection with the privatization of BNL; assisted BBVA itself in connection with the takeover bid for Banca Nazionale del Lavoro; represented JP Morgan in an equity derivatives transaction to facilitate the public offering of Telegate AG (listed on the German stock exchange); assisted Banca Commerciale Italiana and Warburg Dillon Read in the privatization of BCI; acted as coordinator in the privatization of Autostrade.
After a first degree in Literature and Philosophy from the University of Grenoble and a law degree from the University of Genoa, Marcello took a course in American law at Brown University and then a Master of Laws at Columbia University School of Law, New York, where he received his LLM degree.
