František Čech

Profile

František Čech is a
lawyer with an exceptional focus on insurance law as well strong background in
real estate law, corporate law and law of obligations. He has advised insurers,
insurance intermediaries and loss adjusters on corporate/regulatory issues,
policy wordings (insurance terms & conditions) and in relation to insurance
claims, their settlement and representation in civil litigation.

Experience

His experience
includes assessment of multimillion insurance claims, various regulatory
matters relevant to insurance business (dealings with the regulator, compliance
with its benchmarks, data protection law and other) and advisory on complex
transactions such as cross-border intragroup merger of insurers, joint ventures
and setting up distribution networks. He has advised local as well as foreign
clients; both life and non-life insurance companies.

In addition to his insurance
practice, he has advised other high-profile clients such as real estate
developers or a truck manufacturer on projects, acquisitions and day-to-day
legal issues.

Prior establishing his
own practice, he worked for over five years with a boutique law firm based in
Prague and also gained experience in the London office of Clyde & Co. He is a qualified attorney, having passed the Czech Bar exam with honors, and provides services in Czech and English.

Education

František Čech is a graduate of Charles University in Prague. He also studied at
Griffith University Law School, Gold Coast, Australia and he is an alumnus of a
two year distance course in English and EU law by Cambridge University.
