ELIAS NDEVANJEMA SHIKONGO

1. Principal partner at Shikongo Law Chambers legal practice in the Republic of Namibia.

1. Admitted legal corporate practitioner of the High Court and Supreme Court of Namibia as well as registered Notary Public and Estate Agent. He holds a certificate in commercial drafting as well as BA (UWC) LLB (UCT) degrees.

1. Being past president of the Law Society of Namibia and currently a Senior Member of the Namibian Legal Fraternity, Mr. Shikongo currently specializes in high level Commercial transactions/litigation / arbitrations in both advisory and litigatory capacity.

1. Prominent legal assignments include acting as a Judge of the High Court of Namibia and subsequently being recommended and approved by the Namibian Judicial Service Commission for permanent appointment. Mr. Shikongo has since opted to remain in private practice.

1. Current and past engagements include corporate and commercial assistance to new entrants in the emerging Namibian oil and gas sector and conducting negotiations on their behalf with Government negotiating teams.

1. Extensive experience in both private and public professional engagements has resulted in Mr. Shikongo having represented both private and public companies in a various capacities locally and internationally either as, consultant, lawyer and/or primarily as Board chairperson.

1. At Corporate Governance level Mr. Shikongo has served on numerous public and private institutions including at international level and is well acquainted with local and international corporate governance and best practice.

1. Through him, the law firm maintains a healthy relationship with several private and public entities. He is currently a commissioner on the Namibian Judicial Service Commission, a constitutional body overseeing and regulating the judiciary and is the Chairperson of the Minerals Ancillary Rights Commission in Namibia, as well as the Chairperson of the Craton Mining (PTY) Ltd Board. He has served on numerous other boards, such as the then internationally listed HRT Oil and Gas Company, Forsys Metals, founding Chairperson Namibia Wildlife Resorts, Counselor and President of the Law Society of Namibia and Phincon Enterprises (Pty) Ltd, amongst others.
