Christopher Lehane B.L. retired in July 2019 having served 42 years as an officer of the High Court, 22 years of which were in the Probate Office and 12 as Official Assignee in Bankruptcy.
He is practicing at the Bar of Ireland since October 2020 specializing in Probate law, Personal Insolvency Law and Mediation.
He is a qualified Barrister, Mediator and Project Manager.
He was Consultant in Probate Law in the Law Society of Ireland for 15 years and lecturer in Griffith College Dublin in Executorship law for ACCA and CPA students for 11 years. He has recently written a substantial book on succession law in Ireland (‘Succession Law’, Bloomsbury Professional ISBN 9781526522245) that provides a peerless analysis of succession law, with extensive coverage of related issues such as tax, conveyancing, family law, enduring powers of attorney, limitation of actions, estate accounts, private international law and trusts.
He is a member of the Probate, Construction and Insolvency Bar Associations of Ireland.
