Bastian Ruge

Bastian Ruge studied law in Hamburg and subsequently worked at the International Tax Institute (IIFS) as a research assistant to Prof. Dr. Jürgen Lüdicke. During his legal traineeship, he completed placements at the European Commission in Brussels and at international law firms in Hamburg and New York. From 2009 to 2011, Bastian Ruge worked as an attorney in the tax group at Watson, Farley & Williams LLP.

Expertise

Bastian Ruge is a specialist attorney for tax law and inheritance law. He is also an author in the commentary on the Foreign Tax Act / Double Taxation Agreements (C. F. Müller Verlag) and the handbook “Intellectual Property in Tax Law” (Dr. Otto Schmidt Verlag). From 2006 to 2016, he represented the German national group in the Young IFA Network (YIN) of the International Fiscal Association, and from 2013 to 2017, he was also a member of the International YIN Committee. Additionally, Bastian Ruge is a certified executor (AGT).
