Ameya Gokhale is a senior Partner at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. His practice of over two decades focuses on Commercial Litigation, Arbitration, Mediation and Insolvency & Bankruptcy. Ameya has also been appointed to serve as a Member of the Singapore International Mediation Centre Specialist Mediator Panel (India) for a term ending on 30 June 2028.
Ameya regularly advises clients on complex legal issues involving Corporate and Commercial laws, Constitutional law, Banking & Finance laws, Insolvency and Bankruptcy law, Employment law and Securities and other regulatory laws. His mandates include not only representations for clients in courts and tribunals but also complex advisory matters as well as legal strategy. Ameya is also instructed by many clients for his oral advocacy in matters before the Supreme Court of India, High Courts across India including Bombay High Court and Delhi High Court, District Courts, National Company Law Tribunal, National Company Law Appellate Tribunal, Securities Appellate Tribunal and various regulatory authorities.
Ameya Gokhale holds a graduate degree in law from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, and a postgraduate degree in law from The George Washington University Law School, Washington D.C., where he was a Thomas Buergenthal Scholar.

Ameya Gokhale is an equity partner at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co, with experience as lead counsel before various courts including the Supreme Court of India, Bombay High Court, District Courts, and National Company Law Tribunal. He began his career at Amarchand Mangaldas in 2005 and has advised clients on complex legal issues.
He specializes in dispute resolution, including corporate and commercial matters, constitutional issues, white-collar criminal litigation, banking and finance, debt recovery, shareholder disputes, restructuring and insolvency, and arbitration.
He holds a graduate degree in law from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, and a postgraduate degree from The George Washington University Law School, Washington D.C., where he was a Thomas Buergenthal Scholar.
He was recognized as a Notable Practitioner for Dispute Resolution by Asialaw for 2024-25.
He represented Nestle India in a judicial review against the Food Safety & Standards Authority of India and has handled insolvency litigation and arbitration matters such as defending a performance guarantee invocation.
