Abhishek Singh Baghel is a Partner at DSK Legal’s New Delhi office and is part of the Asia Practice group (including Japan and Korea). He has over 15 years of experience advising on corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, antitrust disputes, merger control filings, policy issues, compliance, and taxation. He regularly assists foreign clients with incorporation and expansion in India. Notably, he represented the Competition Commission of India from 2011 to 2017 and served as counsel for the Income Tax Department before the Delhi High Court between 2013 and 2015. He has also represented private clients in indirect taxation matters before tribunals and courts, including the Supreme Court of India.
His significant transactional experience includes advising Mizuho Bank on a ₹1,200 Crore investment in Kisetsu Saison Finance (India) Private Limited and assisting Alps Alpine Co., Ltd. (Japan) in forming a joint venture with Lumax Auto Technologies Ltd. for automotive business expansion in India. He has also advised various private equity funds and multinational corporations like Mercari Inc. and True North Venture Partners on competition law and consortium arrangements.
Abhishek specialises in Competition and Antitrust law, Corporate and Securities law, and Dispute Resolution. He focuses on antitrust disputes, combination filings, compliance, policy advisory, and taxation related to corporate transactions. His service sectors include e-commerce, automobiles and automotive, information technology and outsourcing, logistics, and media and entertainment.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.). He is enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi and is proficient in English and Hindi.

He was ranked as a ‘Notable Practitioner’ by Asia Law in 2025 and ‘Recommended Lawyer’ by Legal500 Asia-Pacific in 2023 and 2024, recognised as a ‘Future Legal Leader’ by India Business Law Journal in 2024, and promoted to Partner at DSK Legal in 2023.
He regularly assists foreign clients with incorporation and expansion in India (including dispute resolution).
