Japanese Translations of Foreign Private International Law: A New Series

I will be responsible for a serialized article on Kosovo’s private international law (LIGJI NR. 08/L-028 PËR TË DREJTËN NDËRKOMBËTARE PRIVATE), beginning with the March 2026 issue (No. 878) of Koseki Jiho, a Japanese legal journal.

Following its application for EU membership, Kosovo has undertaken reforms of its private law under the influence of the European Union. Its private international law, in particular, is characterized by a highly detailed set of domestic rules that not only reflect the Civil Law countries but also partially align with EU regulations.
