Importation to Algeria: Soon a New Legal Framework for Foreign Operators

If you are a foreign major company operating in Algeria, you are probably facing serious importation issues related to the nomenclature of economic activities before the Commercial Registrar, under the Decree 21-94.

Nevertheless, it is most likely that a new friendlier legal framework is under issuance.

It seems that at present a Commission within the Ministry of Commerce is under establishment. The Commission should have the right to allow the companies meeting some requirements to enjoy more than one nomenclature in the Secondary Register of commerce.

In other words, if you fall in the scope of the new regulation and after the positive scrutiny of the Commission, you should be allowed to import several, non-homogeneous categories of goods, without the need of establishing a new legal entity.

If you want to have more guidance and clarification and check your eligibility in this respect, our dedicated team will be more than happy to assist you.
