WIPO GENERAL COURSE ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

A WIPO course covering all theoretical and operational aspects related to the international protection of this intellectual property.

During the past month, I took part in a WIPO training program, so I would like to let everyone know about the opportunity to obtain training certifications through WIPO’s online courses.

I was in fact issued a certificate relating to the study of the general protection of intellectual property by WIPO, the so-called “GENERAL COURSE ON IP.” The certificate relates to participation in a specialized course dedicated to an overview of all WIPO Systems for the international registration of Trademarks, Patents, Industrial Designs and Models, Know-How, Plant Varieties, Appellations of Origin, and Copyright.

The course covers all theoretical and operational aspects related to the international protection of this intellectual property.

– How the various Systems for protecting property work, generally by filing a single international application.

– The application procedure: Formal requirements for filing an international registration application with WIPO, the designation of contracting countries, and the management of fees.

– Examination and publication: How WIPO handles formal examination, the publication mechanisms in the International Bulletin, and the grounds for possible refusal by national intellectual property offices.

– Management and renewal of titles: The procedures for amending, assigning, maintaining, or renewing international registrations over time in a centralized manner.
