McW. Todman & Co is a law firm founded by the late Dr. McWelling Todman CBE, QC in 1969. The firm is situated on the upper floors of the Todman building at 116 Main Street, the centre of Road Town, Tortola, the capital of the British Virgin Islands. The late Dr. Todman was the first native British Virgin Islands to operate a law firm in these islands. Despite his untimely passing, the firm has retained its roots in the community of the Virgin Islands while continuing to grow and strive in the fast paced international legal environment that characterizes the Virgin Islands.

[Music] My name is Nelia Sean. I am from the law firm of Mark Toddman and Co. in the British Rigid Islands. I specialize in commercial and corporate law. I deal with all aspects of commercial and corporate law including litigation. so I do from the time a company was created until it dies and sometimes I have to bring it back to life and kill it [Music] again. I think one of the things that is unique about the service that we provide is that we are a a budic firm
basically very small. However, clients can reach us almost 24/7. we are accessible. we make sure that the service that we provide is ex the top-of-the-line service. It’s excellent service. It’s on par with what our clients want. but like I said, the most unique thing I think is that we can always be reached. Even in public holidays when we say the office is closed, if a client has an emergency, we will show up for [Music] them. Yeah, most of our clients are corporate service providers. we do
deal with some individuals but the majority are corporate service providers and these are bigger companies who basically manage and maintain companies on behalf of individual clients. those are most of our company our cl clients in the in the commercial area. and so we deal like I said we deal with all aspects. We deal with restoring their companies member issues. we deal with mergers and acquisitions, all aspects of litigations that relates to commercial law. We assist in providing documents for mergers, for transfers out of the BVI,
transfers into the BVI, legal opinions. So all [Music] aspects, career highlights. I don’t know. I’ve been doing this for a while. I kind of like almost everything that I’ve done. I will say one of the one of my highlights and one of the things that I remember most is that I was the first lawyer in the BVI to actually bring a BVI company that was continued out of the BVI back into the territory even after it had been existing in another country for over two years. So I
was the first one to do a litigation matter on that and successfully win that. [Music] I think it’s a great opportunity obviously it’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded people to get the opportunity to put our services out there not just to lawyers but to other persons who may not have heard about us and it also gives us the opportunity to help our clients service get services in jurisdictions where we are not and we cannot provide that service so I think that’s good that’s one of our main
