The Cyprus EU Blue Card

Α residence and work permit granted in third-country nationals, providing not only the right to live and work in Cyprus but also mobility across most EU and EEA countries (except Denmark and Ireland).

Key Benefits 

1. Live and work in Cyprus for up to 3 years (renewable).

2. Travel within EU/EEA for up to 90 days in any 180-day period (short-term mobility).

3. Apply for a Blue Card in another Member State after 12 months in Cyprus (long-term mobility).

4. Valid even if spending more than 90 consecutive days outside Cyprus (unlike other temporary residence permits)

5. Family Reunification available.

6. Spouses free to work in Cyprus after reunification.

Eligibility Criteria 

Applicants must:

1. be engaged in any of the following sectors: (a) Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), or (b) Pharmaceutical Research or (c) Maritime (excluding captains and ship crew), and

2. hold a higher education qualification or have higher experience of at least 3 years relevant to the eligible sector, and

3. receive a minimum annual gross salary of €43,632.

Application Process 

1. Enter Cyprus with visa or entry permit.

2. Applications submitted to and examined by the Migration Department within 90 days, provided that they are duly competed and all supporting documents have been submitted.

3. Family Reunification applications can be submitted either simultaneously with the EU Blue Card application, or after the EU Blue Card is issued.
