ResetGriffiths & Partners is the leading litigation firm in the Turks and Caicos Islands, offering international levels of quality, integrity and responsiveness allied to deep local knowledge of the jurisdiction.
We are involved in a wide range of commercial disputes arising from a booming local economy, particularly in the real estate development and tourism sectors, alongside trust disputes.
Our clients are a broad mix of foreign direct investors in the islands, and successful local entrepreneurs and their businesses.
G&P has a unique team of barristers and solicitors who have practised in various jurisdictions including the United Kingdom before settling in the TCI. Managing Partner Conrad Griffiths QC has been working in the jurisdiction for 26 years and has witnessed much of the commercial growth of the islands, supported by a number of other senior practitioners.
Recently engaged in a US$300 Million+ dispute involving complex legal questions over piercing the corporate veil and its cross-jurisdictional application involving not only English and TCI courts, but US courts and their application of the principles set out by the UK Supreme Court in Prest v Petrodel Resources Ltd.
A number of significant developments to commercial legislation in the Turks and Caicos Islands have been introduced in recent years. The enactment of new Company and Trust legislation over the past two years has provided a unique opportunity to the islands to attract new investment and to solidify the TCI’s position as a small but growing force in the financial services market in the Caribbean.
