About Nigel Boucher
Mr Boucher qualified from Birmingham Medical School in July 1987. He completed his general surgical and urological training in and around Sheffield and obtained a post as Consultant Urological Surgeon at Chesterfield Royal Hospital in January 1988. Mr Boucher has now moved from Chesterfield Royal Hospital to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and continues to offer a high quality, consultant led service to his local patients.
Mr Boucher sees many patients with general urological problems including managing patients with prostate cancer, bladder cancer, lower urinary tract symptoms and haematuria. He manages patients with scrotal pathology including scrotal pain/prostatitis and performs the majority of his procedures as day cases. He carries out many investigative procedures including Flexible Cystoscopy and Transrecta Ultrasound Scanning (TRUSS) of the prostate with prostate biopsy.
Mr Boucher’s sub-specialist interest is in endourology and stone disease and he offers all aspects of stone treatment including Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWL), Uteroscopyand Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL).
