Global Law Experts is delighted to welcome Romain Rattaz, Partner at Squair Law Firm, as our exclusive legal expert for Real Estate Law in France.
A member of the Paris Bar with close to two decades of experience, Romain is widely recognized as a trusted authority in French real estate and construction law. His expertise spans the full spectrum of real estate asset classes — including office buildings, retail spaces, high-rise towers (IGH), public-access buildings (ERP), warehouses, hotels, student residences, and healthcare facilities.
Romain advises a diverse clientele comprising institutional and private investors, developers, construction companies, asset managers, landlords, operators, and end users. His transactional practice includes complex real estate deals, structuring through SPVs, legal audits, vendor due diligence, VEFA agreements, promotional and leasing contracts, as well as notarial and regulatory aspects of French property law. He also provides ongoing support for BEFA arrangements and commercial leases, including negotiation, drafting, disputes, and lease-end matters.
A Real Estate Transactions Agent, Romain began his career at Lacourte Raquin Tatar, then held senior roles at international firm Taylor Wessing and later at Aston Avocats, where he co-led the real estate department. He joined Squair in 2024 as a Partner.
Romain holds a Master 2 in Real Estate and Construction Law and a Master in Notarial Law from University Paris Panthéon-Assas. His work has earned consistent recognition in Décideurs Juridiques rankings across multiple years for his leadership in real estate transactions, investment, and lease law.
Fluent in both French and English, Romain brings deep legal insight and a commercial mindset to his clients’ real estate strategies.
