Patent Hive Initiative: Faster IP Registration

The UAE has taken a major step toward strengthening its innovation ecosystem with the launch of the Patent Hive Initiative, a flagship program introduced by the Ministry of Economy to significantly accelerate patent registration procedures.

Under the initiative, patent processing timelines have been reduced from an average of 42 months to just 6 months, positioning the UAE among the fastest jurisdictions in the region for patent examination. The Ministry aims to reach 6,000 patent registrations by 2026, reinforcing the country’s status as a global hub for innovation, advanced technology, and a knowledge based economy.
