After more than 20 years as a self-employed barrister in South Africa and England, Warren joined Cox Hallett Wilkinson Limited of Hamilton, Bermuda in early 2021. He has since been called to the Bar of Bermuda as a Barrister & Attorney, focusing on international insolvency and restructuring, the reinsurance sector, maritime disputes, complex international trust restructuring and commercial litigation. He has many years of arbitration experience, and in March 2022, was made a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators – International Arbitration.
Warren has always practised in the fields of commercial and insolvency litigation. He was first called to the Bar as an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa in 1997 and to the Bar of England and Wales at Gray’s Inn in 2014. During this time, he was also invited to serve as an Acting Justice of the Labour Court of South Africa and has written several reported judgements. After relocating to the UK, Warren joined St Philips Chambers and later, Kings Chambers, as a barrister.
He was ranked by Legal 500 as a Leading Junior (Northern Circuit) for Commercial Litigation 2021. During his time in the UK, Warren published several articles on commercial and insolvency litigation and also edits a chapter for Kluwer Law: Enforcement of Foreign Judgements and several offshore chapters for Brill Academic Publishers in their upcoming publication on Force Majeure.
