Experience

Simon M. Hohler has over eight years of experience working at Thouvenin Rechtsanwälte, where he has progressed from associate to counsel and recently became a partner as of January 1, 2025. He leads the firm’s Zug office and also practices in Zurich. Simon Hohler specializes in domestic and international commercial arbitration and state court litigation. He is actively involved in various forms of dispute resolution, including enforcement and mutual legal assistance proceedings. His expertise encompasses contract and commercial law, torts and insurance law, construction law, enforcement law, M&A transactions, debt enforcement, and bankruptcy law. He has served as counsel, sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator, and chairman in numerous institutional arbitrations, including Swiss Arbitration Centre, ICC, CAS, and HKIAC, as well as ad hoc arbitrations. Additionally, he has represented clients in state court proceedings involving interim measures, asset freezing, and judgment enforcement. He serves as Co-Chair of the ASA Local Group Central Switzerland and is on the arbitrator list of the VQF Financial Services Standards Association.

Simon Hohler graduated in law from the Universities of Lucerne and Neuchâtel. He holds an LL.M. in International Business Regulation, Litigation and Arbitration from the New York University School of Law. Additionally, he graduated from the Swiss Arbitration Academy as an Arbitration Practitioner (ArbP) and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb).
