Samuel Deschamps

With more than twenty years of experience in the field of intellectual property and patents, Samuel Deschamps advises innovative SMEs, public research Institutes, start-ups and large companies on the protection of their inventions, and defense of their intellectual property rights.

A European Patent Attorney for more than sixteen years, Samuel Deschamps has a very good experience of the proceedings before the European Patent Office, notably oral proceedings and appeals. Specialized in the fields of telecommunications, electronics, image processing, audio signal processing, aeronautics engineering, physics, optics and general mechanical engineering, Samuel Deschamps has worked both as in-house counsel and in private practice. He has been for more than four years in the Intellectual Property & Licensing department of an international Group specialized in innovative technology, notably video and audio technology, where he was responsible for protecting inventions from a research lab specialized in advanced networking technology and where he was involved in licensing negotiations with Asian partners.

Samuel Deschamps is also Evaluator for IPEC (« International Patent Evaluation Consortium ») and performs, for this entity, essentiality evaluations, notably in relation with the 3GPP mobile telecommunications standards.

Samuel Deschampsis ranked IP Star by Managing Intellectual Property magazine (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024). He is named to Intellectual Asset Management Magazine’s list of the top 1000 patent prosecution attorneys in the world (IAM Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners – 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024).
