Mathieu de Korvin is a French attorney admitted to the Paris Bar and the founder of Alkeom. With nearly a decade of experience at top international business law firms, he has developed extensive expertise in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate law, and commercial law.Mathieu handles transactional matters, including sale and purchase of companies (share or asset deals), fundraising, as well as corporate reorganizations such as mergers, hive-downs, relocations, and governance restructuring. He has significant experience in cross-border projects.Through secondments in the M&A legal departments of major French listed companies, he has developed deep expertise in business divestitures and strategic partnerships (joint ventures), along with a keen understanding of the internal constraints faced by companies and their teams in these transactions.He advises clients of all sizes, from startups raising funds to mid-sized companies undergoing restructurings or pursuing external growth, as well as foreign groups looking to expand into France. He also provides guidance to shareholders on investment structuring and governance matters. Additionally, he assists clients with corporate social responsibility (CSR) issues.Alongside his practice, Mathieu de Korvin teaches M&A transactions at the Paris Bar School (EFB) and contributes to PLC Practical Law (Thomson Reuters) on contract and corporate law topics. He is also a member of the executive committee of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA).
He founded Alkeom after approximately ten years within leading French and Anglo-Saxon business law firms and within M&A teams of CAC 40 companies, where he focused on complex domestic and cross-border M&A deals and strategic corporate transactions. At Alkeom, his practice is dedicated primarily to M&A and equity transactions, with a particular emphasis on tailor-made legal support for innovative and growing companies.
Experience
Mathieu de Korvin has around a decade of experience in M&A and corporate transactional work gained at top international and French business law firms before creating Alkeom. During this period, he worked within leading M&A teams, advising on domestic and cross-border transactions, business combinations, and strategic investments for listed and non-listed groups.
He subsequently undertook secondments in the M&A legal departments of major French listed companies (including CAC 40 groups), where he handled divestitures, carve-outs, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships, strengthening his practical understanding of internal corporate processes, governance, and decision-making constraints in complex M&A projects.
Drawing on this combined law firm and in-house experience, he now assists a wide range of clients in France and internationally on M&A transactions, from initial structuring and negotiations through to closing and post-closing implementation. As the founder of Alkeom, he oversees M&A mandates involving acquisitions and disposals, fundraising transactions, and corporate reorganizations, particularly for growing companies and foreign groups investing in France.
In parallel, he teaches M&A transactions at the Paris Bar School (EFB), sharing his practical experience with future practitioners, and regularly contributes to PLC Practical Law (Thomson Reuters) on corporate and contract law topics related to transactional practice. His involvement with the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA), where he is a member of the executive committee, reflects his active participation in the international M&A and business law community.
