Mariëlle Broekman is partner Commercial Contracts & Litigation at La Gro. She has extensive experience as attorney-at-law in litigation, commercial contracts and (internal) compliance investigations. Due to her experience both as attorney-at-law and as (international) in-house counsel, she has in-depth knowledge of a broad range of commercial contracts and liability issues.
Mariëlle began her legal career in 1999 and has since gained extensive experience both in private practice (a.o. De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek and Bird & Bird) and in-house (Unilever and TNO) before joining La Gro as partner. This diverse background gives her a unique perspective on commercial contracting, dispute resolution and risk management.
Mariëlle is experienced in both in-court litigation and alternative dispute resolution, such as mediation and arbitration. She is known for her pragmatic and solution-oriented approach to complex legal issues. She combines her litigation expertise with a strong focus on risk management and compliance.
Mariëlle is committed to helping clients prevent and resolve disputes efficiently, always considering their broader business interests. Her motivation stems from the challenge of finding effective solutions and from sharing her knowledge as a lecturer and board member in the legal field.
Mariëlle handles cases involving commercial contracts, liability, legal policy, risk management and (internal) compliance investigations. Her clients are primarily active in the food and life sciences sectors, and her cases often have technical or financial aspects. She has particular expertise in resolving disputes arising from failed IT projects, difficulties in cooperation agreements and insurance claims.
Beyond her work as partner at La Gro, Mariëlle acts as judge in the Disciplinary Board for the Dutch Bar, arbitrator at the Netherlands Arbitration Institute (NAI) and supervisory board member for various organizations. She is also a lecturer and examiner for the professional education of in-house lawyers.
