She is a 23-year-old Brazilian attorney having expertise in both the Supreme Court and the country’s lower courts. She has spent 14 years working as an attorney for the biggest publicly traded firm in Brazil. Maria is a part of the global movement known as Legal Hackers Brasilia, which was founded in 2012 in New York City and consists of lawyers, lawmakers, designers, technologists, and academics that investigate and develop innovative solutions for various problems involving the intersection of technology and law. She works as a counsellor at the binational American-Brazilian cultural centre in Brazil called Casa Thomas Jefferson.
