About Margareta Oproiu
Career History
Margareta Oproiu, (Ph.D. in Physics, former Researcher in Physics) founded Cabinet M. Oproiu at the beginning of 1995 together with Mrs. Raluca Vasilescu, after having run for three years another industrial property firm. Mrs. Oproiu become a registered patent and trademark attorney in 1992 in the first examination session organized by the Romanian Patent and Trademark Office. European Patent Attorney since 2003 and European Trademark Attorney since 2007.
Before entering the profession, she was a researcher in physics, in the National Research Institute for Technological Research, as well as inventor of several patents in the same field.
Areas of Expertise
Margareta is experienced in all forms of industrial property. The main expertise refers to drafting applications, examination, opposition and appeal procedures, in conducting litigations related to infringement of patents with emphasis on: Physics; Spectroscopy; Plasma; Chemical and Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnologies. She has particular experience in conducting IP litigations in patent field, including Supplementary Protection Certificate.

Romanian Chamber of Patent and Trademark Attorneys; Federation Internationale des Conseils en Proprieté Industrielle (FICPI); International Trade Mark Association (INTA); European Communities Trade Mark Association (ECTA)- member of the Law Committee. In the Institute of Professional Representatives before European Patent Office (EPI).
