Education

Mr. Ramírez Villela holds a law degree (JD equivalent) from Universidad Iberoamericana, A.C. in 2003, the master’s degree in International Trade from the Institute of Postgraduate Studies in International Trade (Instituto de Estudios de Posgrado de Comercio Internacional) in 2020 and currently in progress of the master’s degree in Business Administration from Boston University (United States of America). He also worked at Shearman & Sterling LLP, a recognized worldwide international law firm in New York City, during 2007 and 2008.

Mr. Ramírez Villela has over 20 years of experience where he has focused his professional practice in the areas of Corporate, Banking & Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions, Capital Markets, Real Estate, Mining, Labor, Infrastructure, Project Finance and Restructures. During 1998, Mr. Ramírez Villela worked at Basurto, Santillana y Arguijo, S.C. focused on Corporate and Tax Law, until 1999, where he practiced at Galicia Abogados, S.C. firm from 1999 until 2017, focusing primarily in the areas of Corporate, Banking & Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions, Capital Markets, Real Estate, Mining, Infrastructure, Project Finance and Restructures.

Representation of national and foreign companies in the process of buying and selling shares and assets in Mexico and abroad, actively participating in the negotiations and structuring of the corresponding documents. Representation of national and foreign companies in credit agreements and structuring of security mechanisms, actively participating in the negotiations and structuring of closing documentation. He currently participates actively with GFC Media Group and other platforms for the structuring of conferences and seminars in Mexico related to corporate matters, banking & finance, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and mining.

He has also participated in several seminars of the Practising Law Institute in New York City, financial seminars at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, A.C., and in online courses from different world-renowned universities and institutes.

Likewise, Mr. Ramírez Villela has given Webinars with other internationally recognized law firms, international clients, the Ibero-American Institute of Law and Economy, and the Beccaria Institute, among others.

Academic activities

Mr. Ramírez Villela has taught banking law at the Law School of the Universidad Latinoamericana, A.C. and gives update courses in corporate law to various public notaries.
