CASE HIGHLIGHTS
One thing has remained constant for Mr. Beiser throughout his impressive career: his drive to help his clients rebuild their lives after a serious or catastrophic injury. This is why his work with his clients often doesn’t end with a verdict or settlement as he continues to guide them afterwards in thinking through their next steps in life.
In one notable workers’ compensation case, Mr. Beiser helped a man who had been injured so severely building the FedEx Field in Prince George’s County, Maryland that he was no longer able to continue with his employment as a union rodman. After multiple surgeries, Mr. Beiser helped this former client secure a degree in construction management, and then followed his progress as he eventually became the owner of his own multi-million dollar construction company.
In another life-changing incident, a young man was injured while working at a major department store. Even after surgery on his shoulder and back, he wasn’t able to keep his labor-intensive job. Through vocational rehabilitation, Mr. Beiser and his colleagues at Ashcraft & Gerel helped this former client enroll in computer training courses, which paved the way for him to eventually run the IT department of a major D.C.-based company.
Mr. Beiser has also assisted many injured defense contractors in resolving their cases and moving on with their lives when their injuries have prevented them from continuing with their chosen line of work. He has successfully resolved hundreds of claims through hearings, settlements and mediations.
EARLY YEARS
Mr. Beiser’s career at Ashcraft & Gerel began with a high school internship, an experience that jumpstarted his interest in becoming a lawyer very early on. Right after graduating from the University of Baltimore with a law degree, Mr. Beiser came back to Ashcraft & Gerel to begin his legal career.
As a senior partner, Mr. Beiser has handled a wide variety of cases. Starting in Maryland workers’ compensation litigation, Mr. Beiser broadened his caseload to include Defense Base Act and Federal Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act claims, and social security disability fields he still finds both challenging and very gratifying.
