Hyun Ho Eun is an attorney at Kim & Chang. He practices in a wide range of corporate areas, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture capital and joint venture, entertainment, sports and leisure, corporate governance, foreign direct investment, and insolvency and restructuring.
Throughout his career, Mr. Eun has acquired extensive experience advising publicly and privately-held multinational and Korean companies in various cross-border transactions, including share and asset purchases and joint ventures, corporate governance, fair trade and antitrust and general corporate and commercial law matters. He has advised numerous clients in setting up their Korean operations, and represented clients in litigation arising from transactional matters.
Mr. Eun’s representative work in recent years includes assisting major domestic and foreign private equity funds in their acquisitions of Korean companies and setting up joint ventures and successfully defending clients in cartel and unfair trade cases brought by the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC).
Mr. Eun has been actively involved in many high-profile transactions in Korea and Korea-related businesses including entertainment, game, sports, integrated resort, telecommunications, chemical, automobiles, high tech, electronics, and retail. Mr. Eun’s practice encompasses privacy and data protection law, compliance with relevant regulations, and data breach cases.
Mr. Eun also has extensive experience advising clients on issues relating to bankruptcy, company rehabilitation and workout proceedings.
Mr. Eun received an LL.M. from New York University School of Law in 2003, and his LL.B. from Seoul National University College of Law in 1991. He attended the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea in 1994 and 1995. He is admitted to the Korean bar.
