Dr. Martin Andreas Duncker

Martin Andreas Duncker studied in Heidelberg and, following the first state examination, he received his doctorate at the University of Zurich under Prof. Dr. Brigitte Tag in medical law. This was followed by his clerkship at the district court of Heidelberg as well as in Mannheim and Detroit, Michigan/USA. Martin Andreas Duncker is attorney with SCHLATTER since 2007 focusing on bank and capital market law and data protection. He has been a partner in the firm since 2014.

Martin Andreas Duncker advises a large number of companies and entrepreneurs in the field of general commercial law. The focus is on distribution law, data protection and compliance, contract law. As co-editor of the “Bearbeitungs- und Prüfungsleitfaden: Neues Datenschutzrecht” (FCH Verlag, 2019) and both a TÜV Rheinland and and IHK certified compliance officer, he supports the management in organizing the company with the aim of achieving the best entrepreneurial result with rule-compliant and honest behavior of all employees. In addition, his field of activity includes the drafting of contracts, general terms and conditions, process descriptions and product documents (B2B and B2C) as well as the prosecution of claims in court.

Martin Andreas Duncker is a speaker and author of several specialist articles in the field of banking and financial services and an examiner for the Stuttgart Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Karlsruhe Chamber of Industry and Commerce for taking the expert examination in accordance with § 34f GewO (financial investment brokerage) and § 34i GewO (real estate loan brokerage).

Martin Andreas Duncker is a member of the Banking Law and Capital Markets Law Working Group of the German Bar Association, appointed Compliance Officer of several companies, certified Data Protection Officer (TÜV) and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of an asset manager.
