She brings extensive experience in acting for both lenders and borrowers in a diverse array of financing matters, including infrastructure project finance, general corporate lending (external commercial borrowings and domestic syndicated and bilateral loans), leveraged and acquisition finance, structured finance, real estate finance, factoring and securitization, fintech, and corporate debt restructuring and insolvency. Her efficient management of large legal teams and composure under high-pressure situations allows her to handle complex transactions and legal matters with ease and effectiveness. She ensures that clients receive personalized and comprehensive legal counsel, tailored to address their specific needs and objectives.
Debashree is a founding partner at Vritti Law Partners and leads the firm’s Banking & Finance practice from its Mumbai office. She is recognized for her deep understanding of the Indian financial sector and her ability to advise on complex, high-value transactions. Her practice involves representing a broad range of financial ecosystem stakeholders, including domestic and international banks, financial institutions, sovereign entities, large corporates, and private equity funds. Known for her commercially astute and solutions-oriented approach, she also provides strategic counsel on banking regulatory matters and mergers and acquisitions involving financial services entities.

Debashree Dutta has over 18 years of specialized experience in banking and finance law. She began her career with ICICI Bank as a manager legal in 2007, then moved to AZB & Partners in 2011, later becoming a partner at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co in the Banking, Finance, and Project Finance practice. She co-founded Vritti Law Partners, where she leads the Banking & Finance practice from the Mumbai office. Throughout her career, she has handled complex, high-value, and sophisticated transactions across multiple sectors with a particular emphasis on project and infrastructure finance.
