A licensed attorney since 2012 and arbitrator since 2018, Colón Solá leads matters related to employment and labor law in Legal Corp. Colón Solá has distinguished herself since becoming an attorney with her diverse experience in the legal sector, becoming the first female attorney for the Hermandad de Empleados Exentos No-Docentes (HEEND), the union of non-teaching employees at the University of Puerto Rico, handling administrative hearings on employment and sexual harassment claims.
Her experience in the public sector has led her to advise corporations and public agencies on federal policy, regulation, financing and compliance, public and private employment and labor law, public contracts, and constitutional law. She also worked for the Rodríguez Marxuach law firm, specializing in telecommunications and contract law, and has extensive experience in corporate, housing and contract law. She also counsels our clients on collective bargaining agreements and internal operations.
Colón Solá serves on the Board of Directors of Legal Corp as its President and is a member of the Puerto Rico Bar Association, where she has served on several Commissions, including the Special Commission on the Right to Bail. She is also a member of the Association of European Attorneys (AEA International Lawyers Network). Currently, and in addition to her private law practice, Colón Solá is a Professor at the University of Puerto Rico, School of Law, in charge of the Employment Law Clinic. She also recently collaborated as an expert in the World Bank Group report, WBL 2026, on Women, Business and the Law. Finally, Colón Solá also offers seminars to on employment law and policies.
Before becoming a lawyer, Colón Solá distinguished herself as a journalist and communications professional. She uses this experience and knowledge to work with clients in establishing communications and crisis management strategies related to their legal issues. She received a recognition from the Puerto Rico Journalists Association (ASPPRO) in 2009 and the Puerto Rico Bar Association President’s Award for leading a public civil rights campaign in 2012.
Colón Solá holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law. During her studies she represented the School in an international human rights competition in Pretoria, South Africa, and studied international law at the University of Barcelona, Spain. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in public communication from the University of Puerto Rico, from which she graduated magna cum laude.
