Anne Desiree Armanda Theotis

Armanda is the Managing Partner and overall Head of the Corporate and Conveyancing as well as Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department. She has had vast legal practice experience spanning a twenty-one (21) year illustrious career and has been involved in many complex litigation and arbitration matters in Zambia. She is now lending her expertise primarily to local and international contracts, banking and financial services, conveyancing, and other corporate and advisory services.

Armanda is a member of the Zambian branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and is a member of the CIArb Executive Council. She sits on the Council of Law Reporting and on various committees such as the High Court Rules Committee. Armanda is also a qualified Insolvency Practitioner. She is a holder of a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Zambia.

Projects undertaken by her include:

• Participating in legislative review programs including the reformation of the Agricultural Credit Act and Rural Inventory Credit schemes.
• Organizing an international symposium on rights of abused women and children in Zambia in conjunction with the Maureen Mwanawasa Initiative.
• Drafting the procedure to be adopted on reporting of gender-based offences.
