Juan Carlos Villar is focused on commercial litigation, mediation, domestic and international arbitration, conflicts regarding private and public constructions, conflicts in corporate matters and negotiation of international agreements. He is a member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Institute of World Business Law, and of the Young ITA (Institute for Transnational Arbitration at the Center for American and International Law). Currently, he is President of the Young Arbitrators Committee, Bajio Chapter, of the ICC Mexico.

He obtained his Law degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Queretaro having met the criteria to obtain this degree based on the grade point average option. Likewise, he studied the Specialization course in Constitutional Law and Amparo,Ā Master’sĀ in Public Administration, and the Specialization course in Notarial law at the same University.Ā He has completed various courses, seminars and diplomas, including the Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration taught by the International Chamber of Commerce and the Universidad Anahuac.

Mr. Villar legalĀ services have been recognized by many publications. He also provides legal advice to international companies in relation to their investments in Mexico. Currently, he is the legal representative and consultant in Mexico of several companies belonging to the Samsung Group, the Mitsubishi Group, among others.

He is the author and co-author of articles, publications and magazines, as well as a speaker on commercial and arbitration matters, in conferences, interviews, business fora and radio programmes, as well as in different universities in the country, including his recent participation as an arbitrator in the Interuniversity Competition of Commercial and Investment Arbitration, UP-ICC Mexico Moot, organized by the Law School of the Universidad Panamericana and ICC Mexico. Currently, he is a Partner at Villar & Villar Abogados, S.C., member of the International Bar Association, and of the Board of Directors of different Companies and Associations.
