Lasting Powers of Attorney – Statutory Fee Increase

Lasting Powers of Attorney – Statutory Fee Increase

By Oliver Sloam
– posted 9 months ago

From 17 November 2025, the fee to register a Lasting Power of Attorney in England and Wales has risen from £82 to £92 per application.

Why the Fee Increase?
The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) explains the hike is intended to ensure that fees better cover the cost of delivering the service.  Currently there is a delay of c. 12 – 16 weeks to receive the registered documents.

Why make an LPA?
Delaying your LPA registration for your clients could leave them and their family exposed if capacity is lost unexpectedly.

How NSS Legal Can Help
At NSS Legal Ltd, our private client team specialises in wills, probate, trusts and powers of attorney. We guide clients through every stage of the process—from selecting attorneys to preparing forms and ensuring registration—to avoid delays and unhelpful errors (a significant number of rejections still occur each year).

This may be appropriate for your clients who have assets/businesses or family in the UK.
