European Commission Proposes Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism

On 14 July 2021, The European Commission issued a long-awaited proposal for a regulation on the establishment of a Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM Proposal), which would impose a carbon price on EU imports of certain goods from third countries, including #electricity, #ironandsteel, etc. The main features of the CBAM Proposal are presented in the Pierstone-newsletter on this development.
