As an international full service law firm in Germany focusing on cross-border international business law since 30 years, we approach international arbitration from a holistic perspective.
It starts with integrating modern state of the art arbitration clauses into commercial contracts, selecting from over 1000 arbitration options around the globe, combining them with modern soft law instruments like the IPBA Guidelines on Privilege and Attorney Secrecy and cost reducing tools which we anchor in the arbitration agreement.
In an effort of “Simplified Global Contracting” , we further reduce risks and costs by working with general principles and rules of law as compiled and developed, over a a period of close to 50 years, by the International Institute for the Unification of Privat Law (UNIDROIT).
It is an intergovernmental organisation initially set up by the League of Nations in 1926. At the occasion of their 100 years in 2026, enjoy reading my summary article initially written for the Tulane Journal of International and Comparative Law Vol. 28 No. 2 (2020) page 193-257 on “Bridge over Troubled Waters for International Commercial Contracts—The UNIDROIT Principles 2016, An Overview from a Long Time User”. It is still up to date, increasingly even more with every passing year!
