Paul Martenstyn

Paul spent most of his career at the Bar, where he spent the last ten years in a senior clerking position at the magic circle set, Fountain Court. During this period, he developed Chambers’ domestic and international client relationships with the world’s most prestigious litigators and arbitrators. Paul was also responsible for the implementation of one of the most innovative business and marketing strategies at the London Bar, allowing him to now cultivate and further develop his unique relationships. This means he is uniquely placed in a senior management consultancy position to help clients achieve their goals.

In 2007, Paul was the first barristers’ clerk to be awarded a professional qualification by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and in 2015 was one of only a small cohort of senior clerks to complete the two-year IBC driven ILM Leadership and Management qualification. His client service skills, innovative approach, leadership and professionalism have consistently been recognised as market-leading by the Chambers and Legal 500 Directories since 2007. Throughout his career, Paul has contributed to thought leadership and has been invited to present on a wide range of topics in connection with business development, marketing & strategy, and innovation within the legal landscape. This includes presenting on the global stage at events such as the annual International Bar Association Conference (IBA Sydney), also at the invitation of COMBAR on excellence in practice management during their annual event, and also a digital PR video on litigation funding with an international law firm in 2019. Paul has also extensive experience at International board level, being Chair of the African advisory board for Save the Children in early 2019 and leading them through to his handover in Cape Town in March 2020. During his term as Chair Paul helped raise £11.85 million to help save children lives in Africa and led a board which included a former country President, GC of a global Telecoms/Energy Company and the Head of International Arbitration of Global Law firm.
