S. A. Cader

Sakeen Cader mainly focuses on the areas of admiralty and maritime, litigation and arbitration, as well as customs law. He has extensive experience in acting for many local foreign clients, including many P&I clubs, charterers, salvors and ship managers. He advises the top five P&I clubs in respect of their legal matters, and handles assignments on the instructions of several leading City of London solicitors firms specialising in shipping, as well as law firms in the US. Mr Cader further acts for clients in the Admiralty Court, and is involved in handling ADR proceedings, including arbitration in respect of shipping matters. He has acted for Sri Lanka Ports Authority in addition to the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation in several matters. Meanwhile, he is a consultant for the Ceylon Association of Shipping Agents (CASA) and the Lanka Ship Owners Association (LASO). Last, but not least, he advises on the legal matters of the Sri Lanka Medical Council, and is a former legal adviser to the Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union.
