Jean-Frédéric Salès began his legal career in 1978 where he follows in the footsteps of a long line of lawyers that specialized and are recognized by their peers as pioneers in the field of intellectual property in Haiti. While building on the work of his predecessors, he has acquired a solid legal expertise in several fields of practice pertaining to labor law and Business law. He is also known and appreciated as a lecturer in Business law, labor law, social security and rules of professional responsibility at the “Centre Universitaire International d’Haïti”, “l’Université d’État d’Haïti” as well as « l’Université Quisqueya” of which he is a founding member.
Member of the Bar Association of Port-au-Prince, the Inter-American Bar Association, the International Union of Lawyers, the International Trademark Association, the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property, the Advisory Council of Latin American Law Institute of the University of Tulane, he is a featured speaker in many seminars and debates around the world about the future of the legal profession and the evolution of Business Law.
Author of the famous Haitian labor code that is used extensively as reference by the legal community and numerous other articles on the practice of the law, the issue of Haitian employment law, alternative resolutions of disputes, professional ethics, the relationship between Business law and competitiveness, Jean Frederic Salès shares his knowledge and expertise through its publications, some of which are currently used as educational tool and as reference in the field of law and business in Haiti.
As the Managing Partner / Attorney of the Cabinet Salès Law Firm, he continues to serve the legal profession, with dedication, determination and integrity.
