Shollenbarger Joins Nobel Equity Partners From White & Case

Todd Shollenbarger whose main areas of practice are corporate M&A and Private Equity, resigned as the managing partner of White & Case’s Romanian practice in October last year.  He has joined investor Nobel Equity Partners.

Shollenbarger has taken up the role of partner within the private equity house. Nobel was launched to develop successful investments in companies in South Eastern Europe with the fund raising €200m to acquire controlling stakes in stressed and undervalued businesses across the region.

Shollenbarger had been a partner with White & Case since 2007 after joining from Linklaters – which has been named the leading legal M&A advisor by value for Nordic transactions according to the full-year league tables released by Mergermarket and Thomson Reuters. In February 2008 he opened the Bucharest office for the firm and served as the local managing partner until leaving. His clients included CSFB, JPMorgan and the Romanian Ministry of Economy and Commerce, which he advised on the €1.4bn privatisation of Petrom.

White & Case’s Bucharest office currently has 14 lawyers. Thomas McDonald who has over 25 years’ experience in international financial transactions, is the only full partner in the branch and he divides his time with the firm’s Paris base.  The office also consists of 11 associates, 1 Of Counsel and 1 local partner.
