Based in Italy, Luca Galliani is a tax advisor with extensive experience in domestic and international taxation, advising businesses, financial institutions, private equity sponsors and private clients on complex tax matters. His practice combines strong technical expertise with a commercially focused approach, helping clients navigate tax complexity while aligning tax considerations with broader business objectives.

Galliani advises a diverse client base, including private and listed companies, private equity sponsors, financial institutions, multinational groups and high-net-worth individuals. His practice focuses primarily on corporate taxation, M&A tax, international taxation and real estate taxation, as well as a broad range of private client matters, including estate planning and strategies aimed at optimising clients’ overall tax position.

His academic background reflects his focus on both domestic and international tax. Galliani holds a degree in Economics from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and a Master’s degree in Corporate Tax Law from Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi. He further strengthened his international tax expertise by completing an LL.M. in Advanced Studies in International Tax Law at the International Tax Centre of Leiden University.

Galliani began his career in tax advisory at KPMG, before joining Fantozzi and Associati and subsequently moving to LED Taxand in January 2018. He has been registered with the Ordine dei Dottori Commercialisti in Milan since 2014.

Over the course of his career, he has developed significant experience advising on complex transactions and corporate matters and has progressed to a leadership role within LED Taxand’s tax advisory team.

His experience covers a broad range of corporate and transactional matters, including M&A, tax due diligence, corporate reorganisations, financing structures, pre-deal planning and cross-border transactions. He works closely with clients and their advisers to identify tax implications at an early stage and develop solutions that are both technically robust and aligned with the commercial objectives of the transaction.

Galliani also advises clients operating across a range of sectors, including private equity, real estate, financial services, asset management, energy and infrastructure, and technology. This sector experience enables him to tailor his advice to the specific regulatory, operational and transactional characteristics of each business.

In an increasingly complex tax environment, characterised by frequent legislative developments, detailed administrative guidance and enhanced scrutiny by tax authorities, Galliani supports clients in addressing both strategic and operational tax matters. His work spans domestic and international tax planning, compliance, tax controversy-related matters and cross-border advisory, with a particular focus on situations where tax considerations need to be integrated into wider corporate decision-making.

His international experience is particularly relevant to clients undertaking cross-border investments, reorganisations and transactions. By combining a detailed understanding of the Italian tax framework with international tax expertise, Galliani assists clients in assessing the tax implications of their structures and transactions and in coordinating their Italian tax position with broader international considerations.
