An Omani lawyer admitted in 2016, Maram is the Founder and Managing Partner of MRB Law Firm, where she leads the firm’s litigation, arbitration and dispute-resolution practice. She has also been appointed a Regional Representative of the International Chamber of Commerce’s Young Arbitration and ADR Forum (ICC YAAF) for the 2026–2028 mandate.

Maram advises businesses, investors, government stakeholders and individuals on complex civil, commercial, administrative and regulatory disputes. Her experience across public service and private practice enables her to combine courtroom advocacy and procedural discipline with a detailed understanding of legislation, government contracting and regulatory decision-making in Oman.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

Maram holds an LL.M. in International and European Business Law from Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 in France and an LL.B. from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom. Before founding MRB Law Firm, she practised at established international and Omani law firms and served as a Senior Legal Researcher at Oman’s Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs.

During her government service, she advised on legislation, royal decrees, ministerial decisions, governmental agreements and state contracts exceeding OMR 5 million. She also represented governmental entities in arbitration proceedings arising from contractual disputes.

Maram represents corporate and individual clients before Omani courts and regulatory authorities in civil, commercial, administrative, labour and criminal matters. Her practice encompasses contractual claims, corporate and shareholder disputes, property and tenancy disputes, regulatory proceedings, enforcement matters and disputes involving governmental entities.

She approaches each matter through an early assessment of jurisdiction, contractual rights, available evidence, procedural risks, potential remedies and enforcement prospects. This enables clients to make informed decisions about commencing proceedings, pursuing settlement or adopting an alternative dispute-resolution strategy.

Maram advises on disputes arising from commercial contracts, property developments, tenancy arrangements, settlement agreements and cross-border business relationships. She also reviews and negotiates supplier, manufacturing, agency and distribution agreements involving counterparties across the United States, Europe and China.

Her experience in both contentious and transactional matters allows her to analyse the underlying contractual relationship, identify potential exposure and develop a dispute strategy that remains aligned with the client’s commercial objectives.

Government, Administrative and Regulatory Matters

Her former role at the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs provides particular insight into disputes involving public authorities, administrative decisions, government contracts and statutory interpretation. She understands how legislative instruments, institutional responsibilities and regulatory considerations may affect contractual rights, procedural options and available remedies.

This experience is especially relevant to international businesses whose disputes or operations involve government approvals, licensing requirements, regulatory authorities or contracts with governmental entities in Oman.

Arbitration and Court Proceedings

Maram acts in local and international arbitration proceedings, including appointments as Tribunal Secretary in complex commercial arbitrations. She advises on the relationship between arbitration and Omani court proceedings, including jurisdictional issues, interim measures and the recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards.

Her appointment as a Regional Representative of ICC YAAF for the 2026–2028 mandate further reflects her involvement in the international arbitration and ADR community. Through this role, she contributes to professional engagement, knowledge exchange and the development of connections among arbitration practitioners within Oman, the wider region and the ICC’s global dispute-resolution network.

Where a dispute may involve more than one forum, Maram considers litigation, arbitration, negotiation and settlement as parts of a coordinated strategy. This is particularly important in cross-border matters where contractual dispute-resolution provisions, the location of assets and enforcement considerations may influence the appropriate course of action.

Maram advises clients across healthcare, construction, real estate, consultancy, technology and other regulated or cross-border commercial sectors. Her representative experience includes acting as corporate and regulatory counsel to a GCC medical-solutions business and as corporate, property and dispute counsel to an Omani real-estate company.

These engagements include advice on commercial agreements, regulatory requirements, project contracts, tenancy arrangements, settlements and court proceedings. Her sector experience enables her to assess disputes within their wider operational and regulatory context.
